I feel fat.
It's a phrase I think everyone has said at least once in their life, no matter what size they actually are. Besides perpetuating stigma (you're basically equating your most negative feelings about yourself with an adjective that describes many people's natural body size), it's dangerous for other reasons too. You see, fat isn't a feeling. When we focus on weight instead of the real problem, it prevents us from making real changes to address it.
Today I'm sharing a guest post over on my friend Alex's blog. She's was one of my co-creators of Joyful Eating, Nourished Life and just last week gave birth to an adorable baby boy! So while she takes some time off for maternity leave, I'm sharing my thoughts on "feeling fat" on her blog. Click here to head over to Delish Knowledge and give it a read.
